Replacing your traditional recessed can light bulbs with LED retrofit trim kits.

Many home owners have recessed can lighting in their homes. Recessed cans make a great option for lighting in almost any room of the home, especially where you want an entire room evenly flooded with bright light.

One of the annoying downsides of recessed can lighting is replacing the light bulbs on a regular basis. It seems that no matter what bulb you choose, they never last as long as you would want them to, and it’s often the case that the color and spectrum of the new bulbs never seem to match the existing bulbs!

Avoid this annoyance by replacing your old light bulbs with a new LED retrofit trim kits. These  trim kits are almost as easy as replacing the bulbs themselves, and they last for over 50,000 light hours meaning that they last about 20 times as long as a regular light bulb. For most homeowners, this means they will provide light for over 10 years!

Also, an added feature is that most LED retrofit kits that are available have a built in switch allowing the homeowner to choose between types of light temperature, ranging from “warm white” to “daylight”.

The cost for an LED retrofit trim kit is quite reasonable, only costing slightly more than a light bulb. A pack of 6 will run about $40. The install is easy, taking less than 5 minutes to install each kit. This definitely falls into the category of DIY, and no prior electrical experience will be needed.

In the end, you will be saving $$$ on replacement bulbs, saving $$$ on your energy bill, and you will achieve a full and consistent light throughout your home.
